Directions & Routes

This will show step by step directions to and between different areas.

Perth to Fingask

These directions start from the junction of South Street and Tay Street, crossing the bridge to Dundee road:

In town, the speed limit is 20 miles per hour. We drive on the lefthand side of the road. Use the middle lane on the bridge to take the next right.

Turn right onto the Dundee road.

Follow the road out of Perth, and stay in the left hand lane for 0.2 miles to head along the Dundee road. The speed limit will change to 30mph, and then 40mph, and then default to the national speed limit (60mph). You will be on this stretch for 1.3 miles.

Merge onto the A90 in 0.3 miles. The speed limit on dual carriageways is 70mph unless otherwise signposted. The left lane is for driving and exiting, the right lane is for overtaking.

Continue on the A90 for 8.2 miles.  You'll pass this petrol station on your left.  The exit you want is the next one.

Take the exit towards Errol/Rait.  Once you're off the dual carriageway, the speed limit is 60mph again unless otherwise signposted.  I would recommend taking your time on the roads from here as  they are narrow.

Use the middle lane to turn right in 0.8 miles.

Turn right again after 0.5 miles. You will now be travelling on a single track road (or slightly wider than a single track).  You will need to drive slow and be vigilant, as other cars will be coming the other way in the middle of the road.

At the white cottage after 0.5 miles, turn left.

This is the entrance to Fingask Castle! It's about half a mile up to the castle/car park from here.

Dundee to Fingask

We start this journey from the Swallow roundabout.  The A90 is the road to Perth.  From the centre of town, or the train station, you'll come along the Perth road and use the left lane at the Swallow Roundabout to take the first exit.  From most other destinations, you're likely to come from the Kingsway.  From here, use the middle or right lanes to take the second exit towards Perth.

Travel 7.2 miles. You'll pass the caravan/motorhome sales place, and this Horn restaurant with a cow on the roof. The exit you want is the next one after this.

Take the exit towards Errol Rait

After 0.2 miles, follow the roundabout to the left and take the 3rd exit to cross over the A90.

Cross over the A90.

Take the next left, 0.8 miles after the roundabout.

Fingask to Perth

At the end of the drive, turn right onto the single track road.

After 0.8 miles, turn left at the 1st crossroads.

After 0.1 miles, turn right to cross over the A90.

Cross over the A90.

After 0.2 miles, at the roundabout, follow the roundabout to the left, taking the exit to the right of the roundabout to take you onto the A90.

Merge onto the A90.

After 7.8 miles, exit the A90 towards Perth.

Give way onto the road.

Keep on the A85 for 0.2 miles (don't rejoin the motorway).

Switch to the left lane to continue on to Perth.

Keep left for 1.5 miles.

You're now entering back into Perth.  Turn left at one of the bridges.  This first bridge will allow you to travel to Canal street or around to the South Inch and the train station, but you cannot turn right after the bridge.  There is a second bridge further along that may be easier for the far side of Perth.

Fingask to Dundee

At the end of the drive, turn right onto the single track road.

After 0.8 miles, turn left at the 1st crossroads.

After 0.1 miles, turn left to join the A90.

Merge onto the A90.

After 7.4 miles, you'll reach the Swallow Roundabout.  Take the first exit using the left lane, the second exit to the Kingsway using the left or middle lane, or the third exit towards the centre of town and the train station by using the right lane. Follow the roundabout to the left.

Pavilion Toilets - Stalls

There are sanitary bins in each of the 5 stalls.  One stall has a baby changing table (there is also one in the accessible bathroom).  There is a further large coat rail in the stalls bathroom if the coat rail outside the stalls bathroom is full.

There is a slight bump into the stalls bathroom, but this is manageable without a full step or with a wheelchair (there are no accessible grab handles etc in this bathroom so they accessible stall is probably still most appropriate for wheelchair users).

Pavilion Toilets - Urinals

The single stall in the urinals toilet DOES NOT have a sanitary bin.  Please use the stalls toilets if you require this, as there are 5 fully equipped stalls in there.

There are two steps into the urinals toilet.  If you cannot use steps, please use the stalls or accessible toilets.
